Q. Mark Swiger is coming to our town with Jesus Power Explosion. Something doesn’t seem right. Do you have any information about this organization?

A. It appears that the “ministry” in question is a faith healing ministry that dates back a few decades. While I do not have much information on “Jesus Power Explosion,” I can say that movements like this have become somewhat of a rage and are riddled with hucksters. Based on the few facts I know of this ministry, I would advise you to steer clear. There may be “power” present and there might even be an “explosion” but I highly doubt Jesus Christ with be the author of either.

Q 2.Why does God not heal amputees? I’ve heard lots of excuses for God, so I’m wondering if know the answer.

A. First, this question is…well..begging the question. For instance, how do you know God does not heal amputees? Have you personally examined all amputees throughout human history? Have you investigated the numerous reports of amputees who claim to have been healed by God? If not, then I am not sure you can make such a statement. Second, if you claim to just “know” God does not heal amputees you would be claiming to know something no being lacking some form of omniscience could know. In this scenario you in fact become God. So my question would then be…why don’t YOU heal amputees? Third, there is very good evidence to support the fact that God does in fact heal people including amputees. Sadly, and much to my chagrin, I will not provide the evidence but will rather say…do a little digging…the evidence is there. Fourth, the healing promised by God is spiritual healing. While this healing can sometimes entail physical healing, the ultimate promise is to be found in the resurrection of those who place their faith in Jesus Christ. In that resurrection all ailments and deformities will be healed.
